Laser proctology in Peshawar

Dr. Muhibullah Dawar assesses and treats anorectal conditions including piles, anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus at Advance Surgery Clinic, Dabgari Garden, Peshawar. Laser techniques may be considered for suitable patients, alongside conservative, medical and conventional surgical options.

What is laser proctology?

Laser proctology is the use of a fine laser fibre to deliver controlled energy to selected tissue during the treatment of certain anorectal conditions.

The technique differs by condition: what is done for a pile is not what is done for a fistula tract or a pilonidal sinus. Which technique applies, and whether laser is used at all, follows from the diagnosis.

Laser is one option alongside conservative management, medication and conventional surgery. Not every patient and not every condition is suitable for it.

01 Procedures

Conditions assessed

Each procedure has its own page covering what it involves, who it suits, and what recovery looks like.

Piles

Assessment and treatment options for symptomatic piles, including laser hemorrhoidoplasty where clinically appropriate.

Anal Fissure

Assessment and treatment of anal fissure, which commonly causes sharp pain during or after a bowel movement.

Anal Fistula

Assessment of anal fistula and treatment options including sphincter-preserving techniques such as FiLaC in suitable cases.

Pilonidal Sinus

Assessment and treatment of pilonidal sinus, including minimally invasive laser techniques where appropriate.

How is the diagnosis established?

Assessment starts with your symptoms, how long they have been present and any previous treatment, followed by a clinical examination.

Depending on the condition, further examination or investigation may be needed before choosing between conservative management, medication, laser treatment or another procedural or surgical option.

Is laser treatment suitable for everyone?

No. Treatment depends on the diagnosis, the severity of the condition, the anatomy involved and individual patient factors.

Some complex or advanced conditions are better managed with another procedure or a conventional surgical approach. Treatment is selected after clinical assessment, taking into account the diagnosis, available treatment options and individual patient factors.

02 Questions

Frequently asked questions

Questions about laser proctology in general. Each condition page answers the questions specific to it.

Laser proctology refers to the use of laser techniques in the treatment of selected anorectal conditions. At the clinic, patients with piles, anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus are assessed individually, and the appropriate treatment depends on the diagnosis and clinical findings.

No. Suitability depends on the diagnosis, the severity of the condition, the anatomy involved and individual patient factors. Some conditions are better treated with conservative management, medication or a conventional surgical approach.

Piles, anal fissure, anal fistula and pilonidal sinus are the anorectal conditions assessed at the clinic. Whether laser is appropriate in a particular case is decided after examination.

Yes. Anorectal symptoms can have more than one cause, so a clinical examination, and sometimes further investigation, comes before a treatment plan is agreed. Rectal bleeding in particular should not be assumed to be piles.
